Dartmoor

We all spent a lovely loooong weekend staying on North Wheddon Farm, bang right in the middle of Dartmoor. We hired the converted stables M loved looking at all the animals, and jumping in puddles. Fine food cooked by our hosts, straight from the yard, all very nice indeed thanks. It’s a beautiful part of the country, with a castle and forest just down the road.

Surf was up in Lynmouth, when it’s big in Cornwall you get rolling sets here. Great gourge, seriously steep roads and sunshine in November.

Get a Grip

I need good grip on the pedals when riding. My current Etnies have now worn out in grooves from the pins on the pedals and are coming to the end of their life.

My DC Tactic Mids are BMX specific so should do well. I’ve only worn them once at the track, they feel solid and grip real well, but they won’t stay white for long. DC

Five Ten make the grippiest shoes in the world. Their Spitfire model look street but have the souls for BMX/MTB. Yes Please. Some of their mountain bike range are huge. 510

Almond make some good looking BMX specific shoes too. Almond
These Supra Stacks got looks,  skate shoes, so not sure how they go on bikes. Stacks

Very Nearly Almost

Very Nearly almost got a beer at the VNA 16 launch party. Peeps were real keen to be first in, I read some queued for 4 hours, but they would have got Invader special editions prints I think. Some straight onto ebay! The Pictures on Walls HQ, was rammed with folk and art everywhere on the walls. Lots of good prints.

White Denim

Best band I’ve heard in ages said Rosco, playing tomorrow @ Electric Ballroom, on his word I purchased a ticket the next day, despite the bad name. Time Out thought they were the Bee’s bits too.

2 Guitarists, 1 Bassist + 1 Drummer from Austin, TX rocked it big time. Mix of Hendrix without the feedback, Motorhead, Led Zeppelin 2 vocals, psychedelic funk rock just about sums them up. Loved it. They all powered on mixing their tracks together into a mental funky blend.

Didn’t see anyone wearing any white denim.

Curtain Call

Excellent Idea, very good use of space, multi-projector video installation onto rubber ropes, hanging in the house creating 360 deg screen. Loved Ron Arad’s, Curtain Call @ Roundhouse. Collection of artists Provided work, David Shrigley. RD & I impressed with the sweet control center setup. Also lucky to catch very skilled rope youth circus act using space too.

Burning and a looting tonight

It’s all kicked off. We watch the helicopters out the window, while watching what they are filming on the TV. Trouble gets very close to our ranch, thanks to the police chasing the angry youth into our hood. Our local shops smashed up, looters carry their swag down our street laughing. Peckham gets trashed. Madness all over the city

Camp Bestival

Our 1st family camping trip (or is it glamping ya!), LOUD music, yum food and good fun. Thanks R & J for making us artists and bringing us to the castle. Taking a 1 & 1/2 year old to a music festival turned out not to be too bad at all. Marl loved it, shuffling around, much to the amusement of everyone. Caught Blondie, Laura Marling, DJ Yoda, skate park, top stand up & Groove Armada… + so much other to do.
